Limited company invoice requirements in the UK
A UK limited company invoice needs the standard invoice information and must use the company’s full name as it appears on its certificate of incorporation. If director names are included, GOV.UK says all directors must be named.
Use the registered company name
The full company name should match the certificate of incorporation. This is different from relying only on a brand or trading style.
Include the normal invoice details
Your invoice also needs a unique number, supplier and customer details, description, dates, charges, applicable VAT and total owed.
If you name directors
GOV.UK says that if a limited company chooses to put directors’ names on invoices, it must include the names of all directors.
VAT invoices
If the transaction requires a VAT invoice, additional information is required beyond a standard non-VAT invoice.
